FREE support is available to help all CQC registered care providers complete the DSPT.
The Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) is a really helpful annual self-assessment for health and care organisations. It shows care providers what you need to do to keep people’s information safe, and to protect your business from the risk of data breach or cyber attack. It covers both paper and digital records.
When you complete the toolkit, you can publish and share information about the standard you have reached, and how you are improving your policies and practice.
If you have NHS Mail you need to complete the DSPT.
Completing the DSPT show that you take data protection and cyber security very seriously and shows your services users and stakeholders that are meeting legal requirements.
The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Registered Managers Network, supported by Peterborough and Cambridgeshire Care Association (PACCA) and the Northamptonshire Association of Registered Care Homes (NorArch) is part of a national programme to assist care providers in Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Peterborough to complete the toolkit.

The DSPT is not difficult to complete but it does require preparation in advance to successfully complete it and that is where we can help!
